One of the best ways to see the Natural Park of Albufera is by bike. Enjoy a guided tour by bike from the Port of Catarroja , through the rice fields, and passing the lake then through the forest of Dehesa . By bicycle one can enjoy the old port, the shipyards, and the construction of vessels.
One can pass these places very quickly as there are more than 100 shipyards and before you know it you have arrived to the rice fields. Once at the rice fields one can appreciate the different growing stages between the new harvest and the old harvest. Irrigation is a very important factor in the harvest of the rice in the Vega of Valencia.
Passing the lake of the Albufera by boat one arrives at the forest of Dehesa and then at the El Saler beach.
The Dehesa forest typical of the Mediterranen area has pine trees, and herbs used for health reasons. This particular trip is recommended between the months of March To September, and takes approximately 4 hours to complete. Group tours must have at least 10 people, and for bigger groups check availability.
